Fundraising Dinner 2026 “Around the World”

Into our second year of collaboration with National Heritage Board’s HeritageCares initiative, about 40 members participated in their signature programme ‘Collection Cares’ on 31 January 2025. Under the guidance of students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s Arts Business Management course, our members age 50 and above, had a lovely time reminiscing their childhood and created artwork that reminded them of their favourite memories.

On 19 April 2025, Wicare organised an engaging and practical session on Generative AI. Volunteer speaker, Alvin Toh, co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Straits Interactive, guided the participants to explore how AI technology can assist with everyday tasks, memory preservation, and creative expression in a simple and accessible way. Through live demonstrations, Alvin showed how easy it is to use Generative AI for both practical and personal needs. The lively and informative session sparked much interest among the participants to learn more about AI.

A sea of red greeted our Guest-of-Honour, Mr Alvin Tan, Minister of State for Trade and Industry, and his entourage as they arrived in 15 Vespa sidecars. The event was kindly sponsored by Singapore Sidecars and attended by 50 of our members and children, making it a vibrant and memorable outing. We are deeply grateful to Minister of State, Mr Alvin Tan, for taking time to connect with our widows and children. Special thanks also to Mr Simon Wong, Founder of Singapore Sidecars, for including our Wicare family in this milestone launch.

Walking side-by-side to support one another, building a community of hope and strength to rebuild lives.

Annual Heartstrings Walk, co-organised by Community Chest and Marina Bay Sands, that brought community partners, volunteers and the public to build a caring and inclusive society.

This year, Wicare invites you to embark on a meaningful journey through our Fundraising Dinner "Around the World", where we celebrate the strength of community and the belief that compassion knows no borders. Your generous donation through the purchase of tables or outright donations, will enable Wicare to provide holistic support for widows through financial assistance, emotional and social support, skills development and community programmes that empower them to rebuild their lives with dignity and confidence. As we journey "Around the World", let us also journey together in kindness, generosity, and hope—because no one should have to walk life's path alone. Thank you for supporting Wicare's Around the World Fundraising Dinner and for helping widows create brighter futures.

Peer support helps transform the pain of loss into hope and resilience. By sharing experiences and offering understanding, widowed parents and fatherless children find comfort, guidance, and strength in one another. Together, we turn grief into a journey of healing and renewed purpose.
