Grief Support

Wicare provides the support, resources and tools that will empower widows and children to move forward. We provide personalised and group grief support by addressing the widows’ and children’s specific needs as they navigate the grief journey.

For The Widow

WiShine’s peer support groups, psychoeducational and psychosocial activities will connect you to a network of women who can relate to your loss, share their experiences to help you through this very difficult time. These will provide you with the emotional support to cope with bereavement and the rebuilding of your life.

“The programme is well-planned and at times can be very insightful and thought-provoking.”

— Anna Yee, Past Participant

We Provide –

  • Individual Counselling*
We offer professional individual counselling to the bereaved, relieving their grief and helping them adapt to life without their loved one. Clinical studies have shown that attending a counselling support programme can reduce anxiety, depression and feelings of isolation.
  • Group Counselling / Peer Support*
The Care & Connect Group (CCG) sessions, facilitated by our counsellors or appointed persons, bring widows together in a safe space where they can share their fears, emotions and hopes associated with grieving. By sharing their struggles and challenges, widows can connect, support and learn from one another.
  • Befriending
Let someone walk alongside you during your time of loss. Our befrienders are volunteers who have been widowed for a period of time and have adapted well to their new phase of life. They provide a listening ear and emotional support on a one-to-one basis.
  • Talks, Workshops & Activities
Designed to help widows make new connections, gain knowledge and develop new skills to navigate this important transition in life.
    Topics include:

    • Managing Finances
    • Legacy Planning
    • Self-Care
    • Rebuilding Confidence

* All discussions are kept confidential.

For The Children

Solo parenting can be overwhelming. They often bear the full weight of caring for their children’s well-being while juggling financial commitments.
Let us come alongside you and we will walk this journey together.

Community Activities & Events

Walking Together: Our Community & Events

At Wicare, we believe that no one should have to walk through loss alone. That’s why our community events bring widows and families together into a circle of care and support. These activities are more than opportunities to stay engaged—they help build lasting friendships and provide the comfort of a community that truly understands the journey of grief.

Through shared experiences and genuine understanding, we gently encourage and uplift one another, helping our hearts heal as we embrace new beginnings together.

Our workshops and community events are highly subsidised, making them affordable and accessible for our members.
